About Us

The convenient location of our farm offers guests a perfect break from the hustle and bustle of the city and direct contact with nature and animals.

 

The Zalaze farm is located in the quiet village of Zakriž, approximately 2 kilometers from Cerkno, at an altitude of 450 meters. It is located slightly away from the center of the village, where the church of St. Andrew stands. Since 2002, it has had the status of an organic farm and covers almost 5 hectares of arable land, where we grow feed for our animals.

 

Upon arrival, you are greeted by donkeys and Icelandic horses. In winter, they are housed in a stable with constant access to the paddock, and in summer, they graze freely on the surrounding meadows.

 

The farm also has a renovated, still operating fruit drying room. We produce apple cider vinegar from pure apple juice for our own needs. Part of the farm is also a stable and an older residential house with characteristic vaulted cellars, which are also suitable for ripening cured meat products.
